Bruce McLaren Intermediate Soapbox Derby qualified for the NZ National Final

The original date for the Waitakere Rotary Soapbox Derby was 17th March: St Patrick’s Day. Of course Murphy’s Law prevailed and it rained all day. The event unfortunately had to be cancelled. Not to be undone our intrepid drivers and pit crew headed over to the North Shore yesterday to do their races over there. I am very pleased to inform you that two of our drivers qualified for the NZ National Final, which will be held in a couple of weeks. Success in that event would see us travelling to Ohio (USA) for the World Championship.

From our first month taking part in Torque IP's EMAS programme,  we were able to make savings, and student response was very positive. We all enjoyed the fact that we were working together to create a more energy efficient atmosphere at RGHS. Monthly outcomes were also proving to be financially positive for the school, which became another beneficial factor.
