Floods in Thailand affecting hard drive supply
Due to the floods in Thailand there is now a shortage of hard drives worldwide, which has caused prices to skyrocket. With prices not expecting to come down until mid 2012.
The disaster has been affecting Thailand's production, including factories that produce parts for the Mac computer line, some of which had to shut down completely.
Apple has been examining what impact that may have on its Mac production timeline. Thailand makes a quarter of the world's spindle-based hard-disk drives.
