Classroom lights steer study mood
The Ministry of Education and Avondale college are trialing a new lighting system which lets the teacher set the mood for learning at different times throughout the school day.
The system allows the teacher, who has access to a touchpad, to select one of the four settings - normal, energy, focus and calm.
Normal - regular classroom activities
Energy - early morning or after lunch
Focus - concentrate on challenging tasks

From our first month taking part in Torque IP's EMAS programme, we were able to make savings, and student response was very positive. We all enjoyed the fact that we were working together to create a more energy efficient atmosphere at RGHS. Monthly outcomes were also proving to be financially positive for the school, which became another beneficial factor.
