The refurbishment encompassed a range of improvements. Installing acoustic ceiling treatments to enhance sound quality, laying new carpet and Lino flooring, and replacing existing socket outlets with RCD-protected alternatives to improve electrical safety. Lighting upgrades were also carried out, along with a new kitchen unit and water supply. Old wall coverings were removed and replaced with new Autex, helping to create a more engaging learning environment. To support digital learning, wireless access points were installed as part of the infrastructure improvements.
A key challenge emerged early in the project with the discovery of asbestos in the flooring. A refurbishment survey was conducted prior to commencement, and the presence of asbestos required immediate attention. Torque IP coordinated with a certified removal contractor and scheduled the work over weekends to minimise disruption to the school.
