Pomare School

Upgrades at Pomare School in Lower Hutt have significantly improved the learning environment for students and staff. The installation of new carpet, lighting, and acoustic panels has created a brighter, calmer, and more welcoming atmosphere, especially through the dramatic reduction in noise.

Part of the Ministry of Education’s Ngā iti Kahurangi (NIK) programme, this project highlights how thoughtful design and investment in school spaces can boost wellbeing, inspire learning, and support student success.

The project also included a multi-stage Asbestos decontamination, with full ceiling drops and reinstatement with suspended ceiling grids, insulation and new acoustic ceiling tiles.
