Championing Security and People – Welcome Vanessa Summers to Torque IP
With over 25 years in security, risk, operations, and intelligence, Vanessa brings a wealth of expertise and a passion for fostering positive, people-focused safety cultures.
At Torque IP, we value both technical expertise and the people who bring it to life, which is why we’re thrilled to welcome Vanessa Summers as Protective Security Consultant based in Wellington.
Vanessa brings more than 25 years’ experience in risk, security, operations, logistics, and intelligence, gained across sectors including Government, Health, and Financial services. For the past 13 years, she has been dedicated to ensuring key government agencies meet their Protective Security Requirements, working with organisations such as MPI and Oranga Tamariki.
Her professional expertise is matched by her passion for security and people. Vanessa believes in helping organisations develop a culture that embodies manaakitanga, fostering security and safety through positive behaviours and awareness.
Beyond her day-to-day work, Vanessa is committed to uplifting others in the industry. She helped to establish Women in Security Enablement (WISE) and actively mentors women in security roles, encouraging the next generation of leaders in the field.
When she’s not working, Vanessa can usually be found spending time with her whānau, often on the sidelines of a football or futsal match – or sampling their latest culinary efforts!
We’re excited to have Vanessa’s experience, leadership, and people-first approach on board at Torque IP.
