With a passion for design that started in the classroom and a background in architectural studies, Gina-Lee brings a fresh perspective to the Torque IP team. Here's what she had to say.
What first drew you to a career in construction and project management?
I’ve been fascinated by design and construction from a young age. In high school, I had an inspiring teacher who encouraged me to pursue architecture further.
What aspects of the Ngā Iti Kahurangi programme are you most looking forward to contributing to?
Learning more about the Ngā Iti Kahurangi programme and contributing to creating better learning environments for students throughout New Zealand.
How has your background in architectural studies influenced the way you approach projects today?
My background in architectural studies has helped influence the way I approach every project. It has equipped me with the ability to interpret drawings, engage in creative problem‑solving, and evaluate the advantages and drawbacks of every decision.
Since starting, what is one thing you’ve learnt about Torque IP that has particularly stood out to you?
The one thing that has stood out is how welcoming, supportive, and helpful the whole team has been since joining the Torque IP team.
And outside of the workplace, how do you enjoy spending your time?
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my friends, family, pets and doing something creative.
