1. Welcome to Torque IP! What was it that drew you to this role and company?
I was drawn to TIP due to the size and scope of the work they do, along with the fantastic reputation the company has. The projects I am to work on will allow me to bring all of my past experience to bear and still grow my work acumen.
2. You’ve just stepped into the Construction Project Manager seat — what are you most excited to get stuck into?
I'm excited to get stuck into the projects. I am always most excited to see a job go from a name on the computer to people, places, and of course completion, and the sense of pride of a job done to my best efforts.
3. What’s something that stood out to you during your first few weeks on the job?
The processualism/excellence of the staff. TIP have the right people, in the right jobs.
4. What do you think makes a successful project tick — even early on, what are the signs of a smooth run?
Communication and the right people in the right areas with the right knowledge are the key to a successful project. You are generally able to see how a project is evolving by how all the interested parties are interacting. A smoothly run job will always have open, stress-free communication and feel.
5. Looking ahead, what are you most keen to achieve in your first year here?
Within my first year, I hope to be able to allow my strengths to come to the floor on the projects I am involved with. While learning and evolving by working with experts within the company in all areas.
6. Outside of the hi-vis and hard hats, what do you get up to when you’re off the tools?
I am a family man who lives by the ocean, so generally I will be walking with family and the dog on the beach, playing a quick round of golf, or just enjoying quiet time reading a great novel.
