Welcoming Gina: Torque IP’s New Project Administrator
Supporting safer schools through the Ngā Iti Kahurangi programme.
We’re excited to welcome Gina to the Torque IP team as our new Project Administrator. In her role, Gina is focused on coordinating Asbestos Surveys, Management Plans, and removal projects within the Ngā Iti Kahurangi (NIK) programme. With a passion for creating safer learning environments and a drive to make a meaningful difference in schools across New Zealand, Gina is already bringing fresh energy and commitment to the team.
Welcome to Torque IP, Gina! Can you tell us a bit about your new role?
My role is supporting the delivery of the Ngā Iti Kahurangi (NIK) programme, and my primary focus will be coordinating Asbestos Surveys, Management Plans, and removal projects.
Before you started with Torque IP, what did you know about NZ schools and the standard of school environment the children work in?
Before joining Torque IP, my knowledge of New Zealand schools and the environments children learn in was minimal to none. I hadn’t had much exposure to the education sector here, so I’ve found it incredibly eye-opening to learn about the challenges and opportunities within school infrastructure. It’s been a steep but rewarding learning curve.
What excites you most about working on the Ngā Iti Kahurangi programme?
I’m excited to contribute to creating better learning environments for students across the country.
What do you hope to achieve at Torque IP?
At Torque IP, I hope to grow into a subject matter expert in coordinating Asbestos Surveys, Management Plans, and removal projects. I’m passionate about contributing to safer learning environments. I’m eager to build strong relationships with contractors and support schools in navigating these complex processes with confidence and care.
Since joining, what’s one thing you’ve learnt about Torque IP that stands out to you?
What’s really stood out to me since joining Torque IP is the level of professionalism, care, and genuine commitment the team brings to creating the best possible environments for children to learn in. It’s clear that everyone here is passionate about making a meaningful difference in schools across NZ, and that dedication is both inspiring and motivating. It’s a privilege to be part of a team that puts such heart into its work.
And outside of work, how do you like to spend your time?
Outside of work, I love staying active and spending quality time with my family. I enjoy exercising regularly, and whenever I get the chance, I like to go trekking and hunting with my sons. It’s a great way for us to connect, enjoy the outdoors, and create lasting memories together.
