Welcoming Mariana: Bringing Fresh Insight and Energy to the Ngā Iti Kahurangi Programme

Torque IP is pleased to introduce Mariana Brackenbury, our new Assistant Project Manager for the Ngā Iti Kahurangi programme. With a background in construction and property maintenance, Mariana brings valuable experience in ensuring learning environments meet DQLS standards, knowledge that aligns seamlessly with our work across New Zealand schools.

Welcome to Torque IP Mariana!

Before joining Torque IP, what was your understanding of New Zealand schools and the current standard of their learning environments?

Having worked across the construction and property maintenance sectors and come across refurbishments and maintenance in schools, this has given me an understanding of ensuring DQLS standards are being met, and that any refurbishments and new builds are providing students with the best possible learning environment.

What aspects of the Ngā Iti Kahurangi programme are you most looking forward to contributing to?

I am looking forward to contributing to the coordination and end result being completed on time and to budget, as well as learning more about MoE’s tranche of works to get teaching spaces compliant with DQLS standards.

What are your key goals during your time with Torque IP?

Learning from the accomplished team at Torque IP, and providing support to the best of my ability.

Since starting, what is one thing you’ve learnt about Torque IP that has particularly stood out to you?

The openness and welcoming environment that has been extended since my first day. The team I have dealt with to date are all very accessible and responsive to my “newbie” enquiries.

And outside of the workplace, how do you enjoy spending your time?

Spending time with family and friends and the four legged family keeps me busy outside of work.
